from: Powerful and Elegant: Sun Tattoos
If you are a lover of tattoos, perhaps it makes sense to have more than one. There are many people nowadays, in fact, that prefer to have their entire body tattooed! If you are looking for a tattoo that is powerful, colorful, and elegant at the same time, consider getting a sun tattoo.
About Sun Tattoos
Sun tattoos are becoming more and more popular amongst people who live in perpetually sunny places like California. That state is know for it’s excellent weather, and so it makes sense to celebrate love for it by getting a sun tattoo.
The sun has long been a symbol that factors into many different cultures, as well as religions. In Ancient Egypt, for example, the Pharaoh Akhenaton worshipped one god, the Sun God. Louis XIV of France took the symbol further by referring to himself as the “Sun King.”
Thus, it is no small surprise that the sun is still a popular symbol of modern day culture. People wondering why someone might choose to get a sun tattoo need only look at all of the furniture and home decorations available that depict suns.
The sun, scientifically speaking, is the closest star to the planet earth. Without the energy and heat from the sun, life on earth would not be able to exist. This is why the sun has become such an important feature in cultures, because it is the light from the sun that helps sustain life.
This is why, symbolically speaking, there are many different reasons why people choose to get sun tattoos. Some people like to get them because they are so interestingly depicted within art. All you have to do is search on the internet for various artworks that feature the sun and notice how many interesting ways there are to depict the sun.
Also, some people like to get sun tattoos because they view them as a way to show the inner strength that helps them during tough times. One of the more popular places to put a sun tattoo is, for women, on the small of their back, while men like to place them on their upper arms or shoulders.
If you would like more information on the various tattoo designs you could choose from (and you don’t know how to sketch) simply go to an excellent tattoo parlor and tell the artist the basic ideas that you have for a design. You are sure to find the right design with the proper research!
