from: Belonging With A Gang Tattoo

For the young kids who grow up in poor crime ridden neighborhoods, joining a gang isn’t really an option. Kids join to belong and for safety. This is ironic because belonging to a gang does not make people safer in any way. In fact, many of the people end up in prison or six feet under the turf. One of the affiliation marks that members have is the gang tattoos. Gang tattoos are usually done in a way that other people involved in gangs would immediately notice. It’s kind of like a name tag for ushers at church or people at stores for others to approach. It is meant to be different yet the same to their own kind.

If a person has ever watched one of the documentary shows about prisons and prison life, they will often see people with gang tattoos because in prison, most of the people belong to gang for safety inside the prison. A gang tattoo is what the prison looks for in people at the prison. They need to make sure that they don’t place a new person in an area with other gangs. They will be beat up or even worse, they will be killed or stabbed.

Gang Tattoos And The Police

In most of the cities across America, the local police work hard to identify gang members in their area. They have lists and pictures to better identify the gangs. Some areas of the city are so dangerous to the police that they will only go into those areas with backup support. When they do go into these areas they are always looking for gang tattoos. Many of the big drug busts that people see on TV are started with gangs in mind. This is because the gangs usually control the drugs.

Gang tattoos aren’t for fun and frolic. They are very real and they stand for evil in the neighborhoods in which they live. Someone with a gang tattoo will kill for any reason and most of the time they have no remorse or even care to keep innocent people safe. With drive by shootings there are often people killed who just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Gang tattoos will probably not go away and those who have them don’t get them because they look cool. While there are many tattoos that look good and stand out, the gang tattoo also stands out and says stay away! The picture is crystal clear.
